SYSTEM OVERVIEW

A Next.js application that analyzes basketball shooting-form images with OpenAI GPT-4o-mini, persists coaching sessions in Supabase, and provides context-aware coaching chat.

PROBLEM

Players need actionable shooting-mechanics feedback and a way to retain previous feedback so later coaching can account for their performance history.

SOLUTION

GhostCoach combines image analysis, persistent sessions, basic performance analytics, and a coaching chat that builds context from player profile data and recent sessions.

ENGINEERING SIGNAL

Vision analysis

Accepts JPG, PNG, and WEBP images up to 5MB and sends the image as base64 to GPT-4o-mini for structured shooting-form feedback.

Persistent sessions

Stores the uploaded image URL and structured AI feedback in Supabase so analyses can be reviewed later.

Context-aware coaching

Builds coaching context from the player profile and five recent sessions, including average score and recurring strengths and weaknesses.

Performance dashboard

Calculates average score, best score, primary focus, session count, score history, and session-to-session improvement.
